Agreement to Terms
By accessing this website and booking wilderness experiences through fjord-loop.com, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you disagree with any part of these terms, do not use our website or services.
Service Description
We provide guided wilderness expeditions in Canadian territories. Services include multi-day hiking, kayaking, camping, and nature observation experiences led by certified guides. All activities involve inherent outdoor risks.
Booking and Payment
Reservation requests submitted through our website are not confirmed bookings until you receive written confirmation from our team. Full payment is required 30 days before expedition departure. Cancellations made more than 45 days in advance receive full refunds. Cancellations between 30-45 days receive 50% refunds. Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable.
Participant Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Accurately representing your physical fitness level and medical conditions
- Obtaining medical clearance when required for moderate or challenging expeditions
- Following all safety instructions provided by guides during expeditions
- Bringing required personal equipment as specified in pre-departure materials
- Maintaining appropriate travel insurance covering outdoor activities
Our Responsibilities
We commit to:
- Providing certified guides with current wilderness first aid qualifications
- Maintaining appropriate liability insurance for commercial guiding operations
- Supplying specialized equipment as specified in expedition descriptions
- Making reasonable accommodations for weather or safety concerns
- Communicating material changes to itineraries in advance when possible
Assumption of Risk
Wilderness activities involve inherent risks including but not limited to: adverse weather, difficult terrain, wildlife encounters, altitude effects, water hazards, and distance from medical facilities. By participating, you acknowledge these risks and assume responsibility for your choice to engage in these activities.
Liability Limitations
We are not liable for injuries, losses, or damages resulting from:
- Participant failure to follow guide instructions
- Pre-existing medical conditions not disclosed during booking
- Acts of nature beyond reasonable prediction or control
- Third-party services such as helicopter operators or accommodation providers
- Personal equipment failures or inadequate preparation
Weather and Itinerary Changes
Guides reserve the right to modify routes, shorten expeditions, or cancel activities due to weather conditions, participant safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances. Such changes do not constitute grounds for refunds, though we will make reasonable efforts to provide equivalent alternative experiences.
Age Requirements
Participants must be at least 18 years old or accompanied by a legal guardian who assumes full responsibility for their safety and conduct.
Photography and Media
We may photograph or film expeditions for promotional purposes. By participating, you grant permission for such use unless you explicitly opt out in writing before the expedition begins.
Intellectual Property
All website content, including text, images, and design elements, is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or distribute our content without written permission.
Website Availability
We strive to maintain consistent website availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Technical maintenance, server issues, or unforeseen problems may cause temporary unavailability.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
Modifications to Terms
We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of our website after changes indicates acceptance of modified terms. Significant changes affecting booked expeditions will be communicated directly to affected participants.
